Who has been more disappointing this season the Lakers or the Celtics?

I would have to go with the Lakers on this one. And it’s all because of this guy:

Yes, you heard it, the reason why the Lakers are so bad is because of LeBron James. Before, I get into the topic of the Lakers, I’ll talk about the Celtics first. I didn’t really see the Celtics as a championship-contending for many reasons. First, we all know about Gordon Hayward’s ankle injury (If you haven’t, have you been livng under a rock?). In the 2017–18 season, we thought that the Celtics would be the best team in the East and dethrone LeBron James and the Cavaliers as Eastern Conference Champions. Sadly, it never came true, as Kyrie couldn’t play in the playoffs, and the Celtics were so close to making the Finals. This year, we see Gordon Hayward didn’t live up to his potential, rides the Celtics’ bench, and is just another player that takes up salary cap. Next, you have teams that are emerging in the East. First the Raptors unexpectedly break out with Pascal Siakam and Kawhi Leonard (somehow leading this team). Next, you have the Bucks, who have Giannis Antetokounmpo (who’s an absolute beast), Khris Middleton (underrated player in the league), Brook Lopez, Eric Bledsoe, and Malcolm Brodgon (finally showing his Rookie of the Year potential). The Pacers are somehow good without Victor Oladipo. The 76ers are just stacked with Ben Simmons, Jimmy Butler, Tobias Harris, and Joel Embiid. As you can see, the East Top 4 are stacked. Finally, there’s the small forward problem with Tatum, Brown, and Hayward. These players will probably never reach their potential if they all play on the same team. Then again, the Celtics are the 5th seed in the East and dominate in the playoffs.

Now, let’s talk about the Lakers. From the beginning of the season, I thought that the Lakers could finally be the team that could beat the Warriors. I thought they could win championships for the next few years. You have LeBron James, Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma, Lonzo Ball, Javale McGee, Rajan Rondo, and Lance Stephenson. Well, what happened? Well, LeBron had the groin injury and Lonzo had the ankle injury. We finally see how Lonzo is a main piece in the roster. There are terrible veterans, such as Lance and Rondo (they’re probably not the best influence for the young guys). There were terrible trades, especially trading Ivica Zubac and Michael Beasley for Mike Muscala, when Zubac is blowing up and is probably the Lakers’ best center. However, the worst of them all is LeBron James. Which player would tell the media that he would trade half his team, just to get Anthony Davis (especially when they were 4th seed, and moving up higher in the standings and winning games). That destroys chemistry, which is clearly seen when the Lakers play with LeBron. When LeBron plays on the court, the Lakers are basically playing “every man for himself.” To add to that, Brandon Ingram was the only chance the Lakers had to win multiple games. But happens, LeBron just ruins their chances of winning by taking off-target 40-foot jumpers. This doesn’t add up, but the Lakers need to find a way to get rid of LeBron, one way or another.
