Move over, peanuts: Milk allergy more common in kids, study says

In a study released on Friday, researchers observed that milk allergy influences over half of 1-year-olds who have meals allergies, debts for 40 percent of meals allergies for youngsters 1 to 2, and is the most frequent standard food hypersensitivity for young people underneath 5.

She saved Miles out of restaurants and home-schooled him, but still, errors happen. When Miles was once diagnosed, Kauffman didn’t understand all and sundry else dealing with this concern, so she started a blog, Milk Allergy Mom, the place she shares recipes and connects with other parents.

The allergy takes a toll on Miles too, who often misses out on social occasions due to the fact of security concerns. But recently, he was once able to consume out for the first time — on a timeout to Disney World, where a chef accommodated him.

It’s a signal that attention for milk allergic reaction is growing, Kauffman said.

“It’s so plenty higher than it used to be 13 years ago,” she said. “It no longer feels like I’m the only one.”
